Tor, thirteen houses and three murders

Tor, thirteen houses and three murders, Carles Porta’s best-selling book, begins when the author, a reporter who works for the program 30 minuts in TV3 is called to cover the murder of Sansa, one of the tyrants of a little village called Tor, placed in Pallars Sobirà. Tor is a village whose inhabitants have got an enormous communal estate. Carles, with his camera Pol Izquierdo, moves to the Pallars to elaborate the report. While his stay in the Vall Ferrera he discovers, from the locals, an important story. An argument between the two tyrants about the construction of a ski resort connected with Andorra.

The book is written in a style which combines the journalism and the narrative. It’s a book which is easy to read in spite of its length. All the time there is an ambience of mystery, which makes the author move from a lawyer’s practice in the Passeig de Gracia of Barcelona, to the singular landscapes of the High Pyrenees.

Once you begin “Tor, thirteen houses and three murders”, you won’t be able to put it down. An unusual real story about mysterious people will trap you.
